Dalton Emerich is a graduate of Misericordia University in Business and Marketing where he played 4 years of baseball.  Prior to college Dalton played for Wilson High School, West Lawn Owls where he won the League MVP.  While at Misericordia he was part of 4 Division Championships, 1 Regional Championship and 1 trip to the College World Series.  Dalton always loved baseball, and sports in general, but throughout college his passion grew each season with fitness, speed and strength training.  In his senior season he was provided the opportunity to develop and implement a workout    schedule for the college team.

The training is designed to be sports specific, not just baseball and softball, and is focused on strength, power, coordination and explosiveness along with injury prevention.  We take extreme care in proper execution of each movement.  This will not only keep each athlete safe, but will ensure   progress is continually made.  Modifications will be made when necessary for each individual is different and have different abilities.

Linear and Rotational Speed & Power

These baseball specific movements can help improve bat speed while hitting or hip drive for a pitcher when pushing off the rubber.

Example Exercises – Medicine Ball Throws, Speed Band Rotations, Landmine Explosion, etc…

Upper/Lower Body Strength

General Strength training for the whole body will help to combat any weakness the athlete may have.  The  combination of training will translate in fielders throwing harder.

Example Exercises – Squats,  Lunges, Step-Ups, etc… Upper Body Examples – Presses, Chin-ups/Pull-ups, Rows, etc…

Injury Prevention & Shoulder Health

Common injury sites for Baseball Players include the Core/Abdomen, Hamstrings, Shoulder and Elbow. Strengthening these structures are critical to the longevity of every athlete. Using proper evidence based practice along with exercise/strength progression will help to keep the athlete on the field. Exercise Examples – Ext. Rotations, Scapular Slides on the wall/ground, mini band movements, etc…

Conditioning For Players

We will use many conditioning methods that help pitchers stamina and strength for every time they take the field. Exercise Examples – Sled Pushes, Rowers, Bikes, Battle Ropes, Sprints, Weighted Vests, etc…
